The Museum of Distilled Spirits is dedicated to the cultural heritage of distilled spirits through the storytelling method of integrating content by industry experts with that of our audience. The Museum of Distilled Spirits is unique in that nothing like it exists anywhere on the planet. Founded in academic research conducted at Harvard University between 2017 and 2020, the development team (many of whom hold advanced degrees from Ivy League Universities) is comprised of industry leaders who have decades of successful innovation experience in the fields of museums, business, architecture, law, and technology. The Museum of Distilled Spirits is a place where adults from all demographics are welcome to enjoy a favorite distilled spirit while learning about the significant role alcohol has played in world history.

We are a Harvard team that has built a virtual tech startup. We have benchmarks to meet and deadlines to adhere to, but for the most part you can work around your desired schedule. We are open to discussing more than one person per posting.

Unpaid Interns / Volunteers ALL REMOTE!!!

Imagine your own Internship!

The Museum of Distilled Spirits offers a variety of fall, winter, spring, and summer term internships for undergraduate or graduate stuents aged 21+. We are a startup. While we have several areas we need developed and can discuss those with you, if you are someone who wants to create your own internship that adheres to your school's guidelines, then we have that space for you. If you can imagine your potential contribution and its execution, we're here to consider it!

Assistant Director of Web Strategy

Our current Director of Web Strategy created our website as her Harvard master's project in 2020 when we pandemic-pivoted the Museum of Distilled Spirits (founded by a 2019 graduate) from launching a bricks and mortar campaign to a virtual platform. For the past two years we have been an incubator of projects for several Harvard students and interns, and we welcome everyone involved in the Museum of Distilled Spirits to create their own goals (and title!).

After two years our current Director of Web Strategy is stepping down. We are seeking a person who can transfer the website's current content to our newly established WordPress site. This option is preferable and would be best served by someone who is with the project for a shorter period of time. There is as much support as you need available to you.

There is also the option to update and transition the current website built in Gatsby and Contentful. Given the complexity of the build, this option would be a better match for someone who may be interested in remaining with the Museum for a long period of time. Our current Director of Web Strategy, who built the site, has offered to knowledge-share.

The benefit to students who either seek course credit or class projects, is that your work has real-life application. Though unpaid, we give you a title to signify the importance of your contribution to the project. Our goal is that these titles will support your future resume goals.

At the determined end date of the position it is important that the continued maintenance of either option can be transitioned to a person who does not possess an advanced web development skill set.
